Parents
Parents are valued partners at Frostig School and Frostig School West. We strive to keep parents informed and provide easy access to important school documents and resources.
The Frostig Center organizes a Speaker Series featuring experts who can address learning differences, executive function, child development, employment programs, estate planning, and other topics of interest to families living with special needs. The forums are free and open to the public.
Our next Speaker Series information will be posted here upon announcement!

Preparing young people for success after high school is one of the top priorities of Frostig School. To help families prepare for their child's transition to adulthood, we have produced the Transition Resources Guide, which is chock full of helpful community resources. In its pages you will find information on government agencies and programs, legal and advocacy resources, residential independent living programs, and much more.
The Parent Guide provides a wealth of activities to nurture the development of the Frostig Success Attributes in children and teens. The guide describes each of the six Success Attributes—self-awareness, goal setting, perseverance, coping strategies, support systems and pro-activity—and explains the research behind them.
Frostig conducted a 20-year longitudinal study that traced the lives of former students and asked why some alumni were more successful as adults than others. The study showed that the six attributes were more predictive of success in life than IQ, academic achievement or economic status.

"At Frostig, staff and teachers LISTEN and try different idea out to see what will work with each child. This is so very rare."
