Frostig School provides many opportunities for students to build their skills, expand their world, engage with classmates and have fun!

Frostig belongs to the Association for Movement & Athletics in Special Education, a league of private and non-public special education schools. Frostig School participates in flag football, soccer, basketball, softball, track and volleyball. The teams are coed and open to all high school students who wish to play.

The Student Leadership Council organizes two after-school dances each year. The Fall Festival is held in October while the Friendship Dance is held in February each year. The Fall Festival is our biggest after-school event of the year and includes games, trunk-or-treat, pumpkin carving, and a costume competition.

All classes participate in field trips throughout the year. These activities are selected to support the curriculum. They also provide our students with the opportunity to practice their pragmatic and social skills, and learn more about the community.

Trips have included the Getty Museum, the Ronald Regan Library, ABC Studio, LA County Natural History Museum and other educational destinations in Southern California.

The Leadership Council is a prestigious student group at Frostig School. High school students are selected by the Frostig teachers. This program is designed to teach our students to become better leaders or mentors to their fellow Frostig students and build stronger school spirit. The council is responsible for a number of school activities throughout the year including Fall Festival and the Friendship Dance. Students learn to be leaders/mentors, help increase school spirit, be active members of the school community, build friendships and grow personally while serving others.

Falcon Ambassadors is open to 10th – 12th grade students who have either led a school club or previously participated in Leadership Council. They are representatives of Frostig, help bring student voice to our school-wide assemblies, and connect with other students who would like to help Frostig continually improve. Helping at Back to School Night and Transition Fair they have an opportunity to showcase their leadership qualities while serving the school community and interfacing with outside community organizations.

Middle School and High School Clubs provide a developmentally appropriate opportunity for students to connect with like-minded peers as well as stretch their own interests by trying something new. Clubs change each year depending on student interests. Students are encouraged to complete an application to work with a staff mentor and lead a club. In early September students can attend Club Fair where all the clubs host a table sharing what their club will focus on for the school year and where other students can sign up to join.

The senior year is a special time for our graduating students. There are many fun activities to participate in such as the senior dinner, special field trips, prom and our graduation ceremony. Seniors also get the opportunity to work in the Fly-By Cafe, an on-campus kitchen and cafe setting, as part of the hands-on portion of their applied math class. Activities are determined each year by the seniors, themselves.
